Equipment and Recommendations

I’m kind of a Nikon junkie.  I started with a D50 after trying a Canon Rebel XT and a Pentax DSLR.  It just felt right.  After flirting with a switch while lusting after a Canon 5d, I decided to stay with Nikon after the D3 and D300 announcements.

Accessories:

Nikon SB-800 AF Speedlights
Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlights
and various other tripods, monopods, clamps, filters, battery grips, reflectors, umbrellas and stands, etc

Hi…I met you guys at Denise and Anthony Wold’s wedding on August 22nd 2009. I’m wanting to buy a new camera here really soon and I’m struggling just a little on deciding what to buy. My boss does the newborn photography at the hospital and has a canon 1d mark 2 and a canon 5d. So I’m wanting a Nikon that is competable to those. I don’t really understand why the canon’s have so many more megapixels than the Nikons and if that is something I need to take into consideration. But I’ve been eyeing the D300s and that’s the one I’m considering the most because of my price range but there is the d700 that I’m sort of considering too. I just really admired your photography and enjoyed talking to you guys at the Wold wedding so I thought I would seek out your advice!! Thanks!!
